One of those beers with a naming issue. Don’t call your beer ‘soup’ if it’s not thick and murky – it only leads to disappointment. This was pretty thin, and pretty clear. But let’s move on. It’s full of hops and tastes like it. Opening the can was like letting off invisible hop pyro. It was a bit much, at first, and there was a hint of sweat and onion – fortunately that passed pretty quick. In a lot of ways it’s a more traditional IPA.
Monster Soup has been brewed with a colossal, punchy hops collection, including Centennial, Simcoe, Mosaic, Ella and Equanot. Expect your taste buds to be awash with flavours of lemon, lime, berry, grapefruit and tropical fruits. A monstrously bracing beer from the surf inspired East coast brewers.
