Really wasn't sure what to make of this, going in – was it going to be another poncey sour, decorated with facepuckering raspberry? Was the religious allusion suggestive of abbey styles of beer and their esoteric "this beer isn't to enjoy, it's to UNDERSTAND" allure? Well… I think the best answer to that was my immediate ordering of 2 more the instant I finished the first one I bought. Just a delight to drink, delivering a truly enjoyable exemplar of the style.

An excellent replica of the Belgian Sour Red Beers
Sweet, dry and astringent as one would expect and VERY drinkable.
It lacks the depth of flavour of Duchesse de Bourgogne or Rodenbach Grand Cru but then Thornbridge haven't been making it for centuries as the Belgians have
If you like Lambics & Sour Reds this is highly recommended

After using a Belgian yeast strain to give the beer a good foundation on which to build, Thornbridge aged Days of Creation in Burgundy barrels with raspberries for well over a year.
