Rather dark for a saison, but then reading the tasting notes it makes sense I guess. The objective of making a dry, leathery, bitter saison has deffo been achieved, but the question is 'why bother'? 'Orrible, tastes like a failed experiment. I'm all for experimentation but that doesn't mean all experiments are a success. And thanks to substitutions, I've got another one to get shot of. Joy.
UPDATE: My son enjoyed the strong bitter edge of the second can, so there it is; horses for courses!

Nothing special. Ended up with 2 of these due to substitutions (why they couldn’t substitute for something not already in my order is a mystery).

Slightly different Saison. Citrusy and lemony aroma. Nice citrusy flavour with a very subtle Belgiany funky/yeasty flavour. A slight alcohol hit at the finish.

I did not realise that this would taste like a meaty beer when buying it. Not my type of pint, but if you like things that have a literally leathery taste, this would suit you.

Aromas of citrus peel, lemon and hibiscus. This pours in an umber colour. This is a very dry ale that tastes of grapefruit rind with quite alot of sweetness coming through. This one isnt really to my taste, I find the sweetness slightly off putting and for me, it’s missing a big bitter hit.
