After hanging out at Dark City last year we simply had to make a beer with our good friends at Amundsen! We were all blown away by their big, flavourful beers and they were many of the staff’s beers of the festival. With masses of flavour packed into the beer, it’s hard not to be completely taken with their imperial stouts; we knew straight away that this was the style of beer we were out to make!
Using nine different malts, three different FV additions and two different sugars, we wanted to make a beer with massive layers of flavour and a depth that couldn’t be ignored; using the adjuncts to intensify the flavours within rather than mask them. Additions of cherry, muscovado, cocoa, tonka bean help boost the natural dark malt flavours and complete this big beast of a beer. – Northern Monk

Wow, this is a good beer. Lovely thick stout and the extra flavour from the sour cherry takes this to another level.
