“First, it began as a terrible idea. Then, it ended in a terrific result. We’re talking about a pale ale brewed to mimic the shades of the classic Neopolitan ice cream with additions of lactose, strawberries, and chocolate sauce. Neopolitan Pale Ale became such a sleeper hit in 2016 that many of the Monks consider it one of the high points of the year as did many of our fans. Its soft creamy mouthfeel and nuanced sweetness are designed to trigger your sweet childhood memories… a reawakening of your inner child by means of a grown up bevy.” – Northern Monk Brew Co.

Very sweet, definitely has all the ice cream flavours in there – not one for the "beer should taste natural and like beer" folks, but definitely my kinda thing
Steve –
Happy I tried this but a little too strange

this split opinions dont think i would buy again

Tastes a bit like neapolitan ice cream, but doesn’t really have a smell of it. Lactose gives slightly strange taste, not too nice
Greg –
Much more subtle than the ingredients would suggest. The strawberry is the most noticeable in what almost feels like a beer cream soda – or a bit like a “beer float” – it’s got a good, big, frothy mouthfeel but the flavours aren’t as much of an onslaught as you might think. You can tell when you’re drinking it that it’s certainly not an ordinary beer but the subtlety here is underwhelming, considering the billing. Probably wouldn’t go out of my way to drink again.

Absolutely incredible how they managed to pull this off! Beer and icecream isn’t perhaps the most natural combo, but this is delicious. Does taste like ice cream, yet it’s not overwhelmingly sweet or syrupy. Not one for everyday, but definitely a wonderfully tasty creation.

Somehow each individual ice cream flavour shines through with chocolate, strawberry and vanilla before slightly bitter hops round everything off with a creamy lactose finish. Lovely.
Daniel –
Interesting…

A creamy and refreshing little number and has a good hit to it.

Great beer. You really can taste the three flavours. Highly recommended especially as usually well priced.

Very enjoyable. Shame it’s a 330
Laura –
Didn’t get the ice cream at all, mine was very tart for a pale ale
James –
Aromas are very creamy and you get plenty of ice cream in there. Flavours are sweet and creamy which makes it a decent novelty beer.

Surprisingly Good !
Samuel –
Goodness me, that is odd . . . And a bit sickly. But not too bad. The ice-cream twist is pleasant.
R –
amazing!

This one promised a lot, but for my taste didn’t deliver the expected flavours. A bit of a let-down
Paul B –
A sweet desserty ale. A guilty pleasure for sure.
Heath –
Inventive. Be surprised. This is, in fact, ice cream flavoured beer. All three Neapolitan flavours are there and balanced. It’s odd, because it tastes like a beer ice cream float, which is, frankly, odd. But not unpleasant. Don’t think you could have three or four, in the same way you can’t eat three or four ice creams without being overwhelmed. Good fun!
simon –
Nice but slightly too sweet for me
Graham –
Decent.
Nicholas –
Expected this may taste pretty weird and sweet but was a great surprise. Managed to represent all the Neapolitan flavours while still tasting like a beer

Aroma is fairly typical pale with some sweet chocolate, flavour is a really good blend of strawberry and sweet lactose with chocolate finish
John –
If it was hazier it’d be a 5*
Nicky –
Really good

An interesting Pale Ale. A little disapointed from the initial taste but it does develop on the pallet after time, certainly giving a very chocolatey flavour.

I always love this beer when it rocks up, usually during the summer months. And this years brew was the best its been. Getting all of the flavours you would expect from Neapolitan Ice Cream. Creamy Vanilla, hints of Chocolate and fresh strawberry.
