This beer started its adventure as a creamy Russian Imperial Stout with notes of coffee, mocha and roasted malt. It was then sent on a journey from Ireland to Australia lovingly encased in Teeling Whiskey barrels, further boosting the aromas and adding some sour funkiness. The next step was to age and blend with deliciously creamy oatmeal stout to create a rich experience. A beer ideal for ageing for many years, or enjoying on the spot – sharing is optional.

Far too thin to be a good stout IMO, sounded a lot better than it turned out.

Have to agree with the other reviewers. Sour funkiness is right.
Not awful if that’s what you are expecting a sour, but none of the base stout made it through.

smells great but what a let down.

Surprisingly thin on the pour, zero head. Whiskey & dark stone fruits are there on the aroma. Errrr… not too sure on first sip! It’s thin on mouthfeel & comes through very sour 😮 Not a lot, if any, whiskey on the palate? A little underwhelming 😟🇦🇺

On first taste I wasn’t sure I liked it at all. The whisky taste was overpowering and the stout didn’t come through at all. Improved as I got used to it, but still not a massive fan.

SOUR STOUT – Doesn’t say it anywhere on the label, but it is sour as xxxx
