Black in colour with a firm white head, this dark interpretation of a Saison has a distinct yeast character combined with very smooth roastiness and unusual cinnamon aromas. Far from bleak, this beer is like a comfort blanket and its name was actually an accident. When Nomad’s Kiwi assistant brewer pronounced ‘Black Saison’ it sounded like ‘Bleak Season’ – which stuck. This also inspired the bottle’s little NZ sheep artwork!
