Look – slightly hazy gold, small white head, nice retention. Nose – smoked bacon, ham, salt, pale malts. Is this a form of liquid dinner? Yikes! Taste – yes its smoky with a ham like note but its balanced by pale malts, grass, semi-sweetness, a touch of fruitiness and tang in the finish. Quite nice. Palate – light to moderate body, average carbonation. Not sure its my thing but it certainly was an interesting beer.

Was dubious whether this would live up to its name buy hey it does. Really smoky flavour, bit like an alcoholic Lapsang Souchong tea 🙂

Definitely smokey on the nose. The taste is akin to the smell of a shirt the morning after a bonfire… In a good way. I wasn't blown away by the beer, as it just lacks something, other than the smokiness,; however, it does what it says on the tin, so I can't complain.

Was tempted by the promise of whisky-like smoke and peat but it was just an odd tasting lager.
