Juicy, hoppy, good

Medium hazed golden orange coloured pour with a white head. Pleasing medley of tropical citrus fruits, some tangerine and grapefruit, papaya, medium body, nice spicy bitter bite into the hoppy finish.

I’ve had both the 2018 and 2019 version of this, and these Yakima hops are a special breed to make them worth the annual wait. Piney, hoppy, so good.

Ok, yes it’s another big, juicy IPA. But I guess I was expecting more from this collab with Yakima. I know what it says about the hops used, but well I thought it was ok but only that. The malts added are little lost among the hops and as I say it’s ok.

Had this a couple of years in a row now, getting really good. Better than last year, juicy, hoppy but not too strong, lovely IPA.

In collaboration with Yakima Chief Hops, Magic Rock have re-brewed this very popular beer that celebrates the US season hops. Originally brewed in May 2017, Magic Rock worked closely with Yakima Chief to design a beer that highlights the best of the season. A hoppy hello to the new season, Cy18. Same recipe, new year with a huge hop cannon to the face.
Yakima Chief is a 100% grower-owned hop supplier of hops and different hop products grown in and around the Yakima Valley of Washington state, USA. They keep Magic Rock supplied with their favourite US hops such as Citra, Simcoe, Mosaic and Amarillo to name a few.
This super fruity IPA showcases four varieties of hops. The base of the beer contains a little aromatic malt and some wheat malt to add a smooth mouthfeel with a balanced malt body. The beer then features T90 Cascade, Simcoe, Mosaic and Citra in whirlpool with a big dose of Simcoe, Mosaic & Citra lupulin powder in dry hop.
