Despite its weighty 8.7%, a surpirsingly light and drinkable DIPA.

I went for this purely on the fact that it was as a staff pick. I’m glad I did because this is a quality DIPA. Loads of juicey apricot, thick, bitter in the right places, boozy but drinkable. A high quality brew.

One of the strongest beers I’ve had excluding imperial stouts and this doesn’t try to hide it. Started off nice and fruity but by the end of the glass all I could think of was onions! I like a bit of savoury but not shoved in my face.
Joining Pirata’s socially minded beers, is Liquid Fear, a tribute to leading intellectual Zygmunt Bauman. In a precarious world, what will become of future generations? While considering how we can live ethical, deeply meaningful lives, we’d better enjoy a few of these Citra and Simcoe laden brews. Drink and think.
