Diving bell is Galway Bay’s tip of the hat to the Scottish Wee Heavy. A beer style well matched for the stormy days & nights they endure in Galway. Brewed with a base of Scotland’s finest Golden Promise malt, heaps of crystal malt & a touch of roast barley. Followed by a long, cool fermentation with Scottish ale yeast before being racked to Nicaraguan Rum Casks on Valentine’s Day, where it has rested for seven months. Silky smooth with big notes of molasses, stone fruit & a little spice. Diving Bell is a sweet, malty beast with a beautifully delicate structure.

Dark syrupy pour with Zero head. Not too much on aroma. Heavy, heavy mouthfeeel. The palate is ALL rum BA!& the booze goes on forever! A session ender!

Fantastic! I’ve bought this beer a few times now and it’s up there as one of my favourites.
