Strong and malty. Had better had worse. Could do with more nuance.

was so so

It might just be because I loved the beer before this but it seemed harsh on the alcohol and I normally drink much stronger than 7.5%. But then I was also expecting to love this so maybe I built it up to much. Either way I was a bit disappointed.

Surprised by this? Maybe by it’s lowish ratings, but not by the brewery! Spanish craft breweries in general are top notch! No surprise..this is top notch! Dark amber, reasonable head. Hoppy, caramel nose. Malty, sweet caramel palate! Well constructed 🇪🇸

This Amber & Red Ale is lovingly brewed by the fantastic Edge.
This tasty brew comes in a 330ml bottle and is 7.5% ABV.
The good people at Edge say:
Our collaboration with local brewer friends, La Pirata, may not be the strongest ale you have encountered, but it certainly is bold. We went big on the hop additions to the whirlpool in search of plenty citrussy marmalade flavours to complement a base of pilsner, vienna and crystal malts. Then dry-hopped with HBC492 for an extra layer of hop character, lending herbal, pine and more citrus notes to the finished beer.
