one of the best beers I had all of 2018. Syrupy body, dried dark fruits, some woody smoke from the barrel aging. There was a lot of flavour and it’s testament to just how good Buxton are

A really nice Belgian style beer, oh dear I’ve used the N word! Nice Mmm.. well that’s the difficulty here it is a nice beer but only really that. I think the barrel aging was minimal, that is to say very little oaking. Still gets my four stars.

Great Quadrupel, red fruits, chocolate, raisins, very nice – 4.25/5
Buxton have been barrel ageing their famed Quadrupel – the fourth beer in their Belgian family series. Dark, rich and sweet, Quadrupel is part of Buxton’s lineage series exploring Belgian brewing traditions. With flavours of red berries, raisins and a hint of spice followed by roasted malts, caramel and dark chocolate notes, this 12% barrel aged upgrade is a disco dance for your taste buds.
