Yeastie Boys – Pot Kettle Black – Porter 6%

Their flagship beer, and biggest seller, is one of the most celebrated beers to come out of New Zealand. Pot Kettle Black is still the only beer to have ever won two trophies in a single year at BrewNZ, and in 2012 was awarded the Champion Beer of Asia (potentially the biggest award a NZ beer has picked up in 30 years). PKB, as it has become affectionately known, is a juxtaposition of beer: fresh and hoppy, yet as black as night and malty rich. The black beer that has converted many a person who was formerly scared of black beer. Also called a “real foodie beer” by pretty much every chef! And now it's in a can! Ohh my.

  • Wild Beer Co – Chronos Wild Lager 5.8%

The Greek God Chronos is depicted as the personification of time, an old winged man wielding a scythe. Fitting for it’s namesake, this beer was lagered over a month in foudre producing a clean, delicate and rounded lager. As complex as it is refined - the embodiment of how time and gentle ageing can benefit flavour. At Wild Beer we frequently harness the delicious powers of brettanomyces and Chronos is no exception. Taking a more traditional approach to lagering we decided to embrace the elements and allow the frigid temperatures of the Somerset winter to keep the beer cool. We pitched brettanomyes in foudre; large wooden vessels which allow the brettanomyces to blossom and adds some tannic quality to the beer while leaving it exposed to ambient temperatures. Allowing the forces of nature and power of time to transform this beer into something beautiful. Chronos represented the destructive ravages of time, mirroring not just the time spent lagering in founder but also the insatiable hunger of brettanomyces, slowly metabolising it’s way through the body of a beer over time. • Tickety Brew – Pale Ale 5.5%

Our Pale Ale is darker in colour than most nowadays. It's much more akin to the colour of classic English pales. This is due to the Cara and Munich malt that is used. However, we have used American hops much more more associated with modern pales. The malt and the yeast provide perfect balance to the bitterness, making this beer utterly refreshing.
