This Amber & Red Ale is lovingly brewed by the fantastic Big Hug.
This tasty brew comes in a 330ml can and is 5.0% ABV.
The good people at Big Hug say:
Red Rye is 5% with a complex malt bill to match the wonderful New World hops.Pale Ale Crystal, Munich and Carapils lay the foundation for two types of rye malt – straight up and crystal rye.
These malts work great with the assertive US hops as they give the beer a full, smooth mouthfeel with a slightly spicy finish.
This is a complex malt bill that marries together different flavours and hues to produce the vibrant red colour and mighty body.
Hops – Target for bittering, Mosaic and Columbus for aroma. This hop pairing combines flavours and aromas rich in mango, lemon, citrus, earthy pine, tropical fruit, and stone fruit notes from the Mosaic which are then subtly contrasted by the piney citrus classic that is Columbus.

This red ale was a miss for me. Too much rye going on here.

Nice flavour, beautiful colour!
David –
Warm and fruity on the nose and good malty flavour then quite dry at the end. Nice.

A malty brew with a strong mouthfeel/flavour. Not one for a session, but nonetheless a good beer.

Nice and dark and hoppy
Stuart –
Great malty taste
Paul –
Decent enough red beer, nice light spice cutting trough.
Benjamin –
Not bad, nicely malty.
Aidan –
It’s not a summer beer, much better for when it’s a bit cooler. V bitter finish, quite dry! But a lovely combination of flavours in the mouth – the slight mango hint on the nose gives way to solid dark malt flavours.
Mark –
Deep and malty, probably wouldn’t pick it out in a bar if I had other options
