A bready aroma, with strong notes of chocolate and cognac. Pours a deep dark brown in the glass. Starts on yeasty notes of bready pudding and it has a nice almost custard sweetness to it, as well notes of dark chocolate. The dark chocolate taste has no bitterness to it at all, it's just a slightly creamy pure dark chocolate taste. This bread and butter pudding start is great, but then it kicks it up a gear and you get notes of sweet, boozy and rich cognac. Towards the finish the cognac brings with it a bit hit of alcohol and right at the end your left with fragrant cognac and the sweet fruity flavours of stewed plums and raisins. I think this might be my favourite porter of all time. All the flavours are ones that I love and work well together. It's incrediblely well balanced, so that you can taste all the individual elements in their own right. An outstanding collab from two outstanding breweries.
