The beer that kick-started a revolution, Anchor Steam is brewed with Lager yeast, but fermented warmer as an ale in a style now known as California Common. A clear golden beer with bready, earthy aromas, light bitter fruit flavours and a medium body make for very easy drinking. A quality Californian brew.

Really nice, love this beer and everything from Anchor. As per the description, more a golden ale than a lager, a bit like Boston Lager. Very staisfying.

Good solid session beer. 4 stars on a good day, probably more like 3.5.
John –
A fruity & nutty aroma. Pours a strong amber in the glass. The taste starts on a good strong maltiness and slight fruitiness, thats rounded off with a nice powerful bitter ending. This beer doesnt pull its punches and is full of strong flavours. Great quality brewing, I highly enjoyed this.
Steve –
Not really sure why I like this beer, but I do. Tastes like lager, but only half makes you want to put a vest on and start arguing in the street.
Kirsty –
Old favourite.

Not my favourite, I know many friends that would enjoy this but was too bitter for me and struggled to finish it
Lindsay –
This is much richer and stronger in flavour than most lagers, but a welcome change. All the better that the brewery workers have unionized. Solidarity.
David –
Nice flavours

Smooth, crisp and honestly one of the best lagers I’ve ever had. Definitely make sure it’s ice cold because it’s incredible!

One of my go to favourites
David –
Earthy, fruity and quite malty. Interesting but not quite as unique as I’d hoped.
Robert –
Nothing wrong with this really, just hoped for more, felt similar to any normal pub lager without anything exciting
Callum –
Ciaran –
Different from your usual lager but still enjoyable.

A beer that defines an entire style, and thus one that every enthusiast should try. Don’t expect a pale larger, this tastes like a British bitter without the overwhelming bitterness at the end. In a good way.
Thomas –
Typical lager. Interesting brewing process
simon –
smooth beer, great.
Marjan –
Aroma is malty with subtle caramel and nuts. Taste is moderate malty and slightly fruity with some caramel.

I have no idea what this beer tastes like as I ordered it nearly a month ago and still haven't received it. Emails have gone unanswered. Was informed that it had shipped over a week ago and that I'd receive tracking info. Nothing came through. Honestbrew have my money, I have no beer. Take my advice, shop elsewhere!
