    Pirate Life – Stout 7.2%

Brewed with Oats, Black and Chocolate malts, EKG, Fuggles and Columbus hops, Pirate Life Stout is perfect for the cooler months. The malts take centre stage with a cacophony of coffee, chocolate and sticky date pudding and a rich creamy mouthfeel thanks to the oats. Columbus smacks the palate with a healthy dose of bitterness while late additions of EKG and Fuggles lend a gentle, earthy spiciness to the beer.

Pirate Life – Mosaic IPA 7%

Pirate Life decided to brew a homage to the most delicious of hops. The plan was pretty straight forward: use a simple malt bill and let the Mosaic do the talking. The resulting beer is as the name implies; a kaleidoscopic journey through tropical flavours. Somehow, Mosaic finds a way to impart every delicious flavour you ask of hops, all on its own. Backed by a clean, light malt bill it's the beer equivalent of a fruit punch juice box.

    Pirate Life – IPA 6.8%

Sitting nicely between Pirate Life’s Pale Ale and IIPA, at 6.8% ABV the IPA has a gentle orange hue and a round, full bodied malt character thanks to the Pale, Munich and Crystal malt. After the brewery’s Pale Ale and IIPA withdrew most of their funds from the ‘dank bank’ they thought it was time to make a beer that brought something a little different to the table. Chock full of Centennial, Riwaka and Simcoe this IPA is bright, fruity and full of liquid fun.

  • North End Brewing – Oud Bruin Flanders Brown 7%

North End brew their interpretation with a fruity Belgian yeast strain, rich malts, dried cherries, prunes and the addition of a yoghurt culture. Rich yet tart, malty yet fruity, a perfect addition to a hearty dinner table.

  • 8 Wired – Big Smoke – Porter 6.2%

    ,

Now what is this? A smoked beer?? It really isn’t as crazy as it sounds. 250 years ago virtually all beers were smoked (it’s true, Google it!), but with the dawning of the industrial revolution most of the smoke lifted. However, in the German town of Bamberg the flame has quite literally been kept alive and to this day the town’s brewers produce world renowned beers brewed with their own special rauchmalz (beechwood smoked malt). 8 Wired have taken their best porter recipe and added a good measure of that same Bamberg Rauchmalz. The smoke mingles beautifully with the rich, dark roasted chocolate flavours of the porter without being overpowering. Although it pairs extremely well with smoked seafood, barbeques, strong cheeses and hearty stews, its food friendliness isn’t limited to savouries; chocolate and caramel based desserts are great companions too! Trust us; it really isn’t as crazy as it sounds.

Like Peat? No, not Pete, Peat. Here is the world's first beer made with 100% peated malt: smokier than a highlander's local smoke house on smoke day.
