12th July 2014. A day that has been in the diary of every London beer enthusiast since beer itself was invented in Ancient Egypt in 5BC.
While this might be an exaggeration, this year’s London Brewer’s Market is certainly set to be an exciting one, with over 20 breweries turning out to showcase their best along with the chance to have a chat to the master brewers behind the operation. Every year, the market affords enthusiasts all over the UK the opportunity to get together and meet those that have championed their favourite brews.
All this is happening right around the corner from one of London’s most historic breweries, The Old Truman Brewery on Brick Lane. Founded in 1666, Truman’s was a monument to London brewing before it closed its doors in 1989 and continues to be a hub of London’s rich history.
Rumour has it that our very own Frank might make an appearance with his world-famous Honesty Bar. What the hell is that, I hear you cry? Well, it’s all your wildest beery dreams come true at once. On your birthday. With unicorns. Frank will be proudly manning his stall, overseeing some delicious free samples of our very own beer, with the bottled versions stacked behind. The latter are available on a ‘pay what you think its worth’ basis. Yep. That’s right, an Honesty Box system for Honest Brew beer. Rejoice!
We’ve put a ton of time into brewing our own beers and this is a great opportunity for you to let us know what you think. Remember, the two things we love most are honesty and beer. Frank has a thing for vintage paintings of otters but we won’t go into that.
The Market itself is open bright and early, and is combined with the Independent Label Market, so don’t be surprised to hear plenty of classic tunes for you to relax and sup your beer to. All in all it’s shaping up to be a cracking day! See you there – we’ll be the ones standing by the Honest Brew stall.
