‘He was a wise man who invented beer’ -Plato
12th July 2014. A day that has been in the diary of every London beer enthusiast since beer itself was invented in Ancient Egypt in 5BC.
While this might be an exaggeration, this year’s London Brewer’s Market is certainly set to be an exciting one, with over 20 breweries turning out to showcase their best along with the chance to have a chat to the master brewers behind the operation. Every year, the market affords enthusiasts all over the UK the opportunity to get together and meet those that have championed their favourite brews.
All this is happening right around the corner from one of London’s most historic breweries, The Old Truman Brewery on Brick Lane. Founded in 1666, Truman’s was a monument to London brewing before it closed its doors in 1989 and continues to be a hub of London’s rich history.
