Craft Beer Hour Picks: All the Colours

Craft Beer Hour Picks: All the Colours
June 16, 2016 Brody

In preparation for next Tuesday’s Wiper and True hosted Craft Beer Hour (21st June) we’ve handpicked an extraordinarily colourful selection of beers for you to fill your fridge with. This includes the Wiper and True V Hellfire Video Club Sour Black IPA, Tutti i Colori del Buio – exclusively available online through HonestBrew. Beer lovers! Don’t be caught with a drab monochrome beer this Tuesday, make sure you’re drinking #allthecolours with Wiper and True, the Craft Beer Hour community and HonestBrew.

Wiper & True v Hellfire – Tutti i Colori del Buio – Sour Black IPA 6.8%

Several shades of darkness tangle and combine to form this collaborative Sour Black IPA. Wiper & True teamed up with Hellfire Video Club, a Bristol-based film night who bring psychotropic celluloid to the Bristol public on a monthly basis. The beer they created together takes it’s name and inspiration from cult Italian psychedelic horror film “Tutti I Colori Del Buio”, translated as “All the colours of the dark”.

A beer that mirrors the mesmeric qualities of the picture, this brew takes pleasure in challenging your senses, leaving you puzzled but wholly satisfied. Maybe this time it’s safe to venture into the darkness. Read up about this beer.

Yeastie Boys – White Noise – Chamomile Wheat Beer 4.4%

If Tutti i Colori del Buio provides the darkness to this beery equation, then this White Noise Chamomile wheat beer from Yeastie Boys will happily provide the light. Perfect for those afternoon sessions after a hard day’s work or play, this one boasts a perfumy coconut and vanilla note on the nose, with a little citrus and spice, and bready grains from the wheat. The beer finishes with a cleansing acidity, a faint spicy note and only the mildest touch of citrus from the virtually non-existent hops.

Magic Rock – Cannonball – IPA 7.2%

Cannonball is an India Pale Ale rich with tradition, which means it’s high in alcohol and massively hopped to survive a long sea voyage. Luckily you don’t have to wait for this delicious brew to voyage across vast oceans – it’s born and bred at Huddersfield’s Magic Rock – before you can crack open the bright green can and let the flavour explode on your palate. Tropically fruity hops compete against a sweet malty backbone, while a rasping bitterness builds to a mouth puckering crescendo.

Bear Republic – Red Rocket – Amber Ale 6.8%

We’re incredibly excited to finally have Bear Republic brews finally make a pit stop in the Bottle Shop after California floods plagued the brewery’s production – a tale you can read all about here. Red Rocket Ale is a bastardised Scottish style red ale that traces its origins to Bear Republic’s homebrew roots. This full bodied and hoppy brew finishes on the palate with sweet, caramel malt flavours. They won’t be doing laps forever, so grab a Bear Republic brew before they race away!

Mad Hatter – Toxteth IPA 6.5%

With its bright yellow labelling this classic IPA loaded with hops is an homage to both Toxteth and beer overflowing with flavour. Mad Hatter are known for their experimental brews that exhibit a wide spectrum of flavours and bold rabbit adorned labelling. It wouldn’t be a celebration of craft colour without these colourful characters on the guest list!
